Why Manchester United did not sell Pogba - Solskjaer

Manchester united boss has said that united was willing to sell Paul Pogba during the transfer window but could not seal the deal due to some reasons.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will be staying at Old Trafford this season despite his public acknowledgement that he wanted a move out.

Juventus, Real Madrid, and Barcelona were known to have interests in signing Pogba but could not do so as Real and Barca were more focused on Neymar that they soon forgot about Pogba.  Juventus on the other hand could not meet the £150 million valuation of the player.

Real Madrid Manager Zidane had said this about Pogba,  "I know him personally. He brings so much and there are few players who bring as much as he does.” It is believed that he really wanted to sign Pogba but did not get a go ahead from the club president Florentino Perez.

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that there are two reasons why Pogba was not sold :

  • The interested clubs could not meet his valuation price
  • Negotiations were not done early enough to enable him buy players from the proceeds
As  we wait for the transfer window in January,  Pogba is definitely bound to be a major target for top clubs in the transfer market once again, though it is expected that Neymar's transfer will overshadow him.
